Sooooo if you're like me, when iOS7 finished downloading yesterday, you started freaking out and having a massive panic attack. Then when you eventually remembered how to breathe, you realized your battery sucks even worse than before. Here's a few tips on saving that battery life!
1) Disable Background Motion
The dynamic wallpapers and 3D parallax in iOS 7 look badass, but but drain the CRAP outta your battery. If you're good with giving up the purdy, you'll save some battery life already.
Disable this by going into Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion
2) Stop Location Based Services
iPhone has pretty much turned into stalker-style LoJack. Pretty much every single app that exists asks to access your location. If you turn what I like to call the "Creepy Ex Access" off, you won't burn your battery being in your former lover's crosshairs.
This is how you stop location based services: Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services
Make sure Location-Based iAds, Popular Near Me, Compass Calibration, Diagnostics & Usage, and Traffic is turned off.
3) Background Application Refresh
So pretty cool feature in iOS7 is the new "background application refresh" feature, which automatically updates apps when you're not using them. If you're one of those people with 29384 update notifications but just hate updating them, it's stellar. Downside? Your phone is always searching for updates, which clearly crushes your battery life...so shut that shizz OFF and save yo'self some extra battery life!
Turn off this feature here: Settings > General > Background App Refresh
4) Disable AirDrop
So AirDrop is a pretty cool new feature that lets you drop files instantly between any other iPhone 5, 5C, or 5S running iOS7 in your area. Not so cool? It's CONSTANTLY looking for other devices around you which sucks up a ton of battery life, so ditch it!
Disable this feature open up the control center by swiping up from the bottom of your screen, click AirDrop, and then Off.
BONUS Tip: Delete Candy Crush!
