CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire man has pleaded guilty to retaliating against a federal employee, admitting to leaving a threatening voicemail message for a Social Security Administration claims representative.

The representative handled the Social Security account of Glenn Bates of Gilmanton.

Prosecutors said the voicemail message demanded that certain actions be taken with respect to Bates's Social Security file and benefits. It threatened that he had a gun, that he would wait for the employee and that he would sexually assault the employee.

The 51-year-old Bates was arrested in June 2012 following his indictment by a federal grand jury.

Sentencing is scheduled for June 12 and Bates could face up to 10 years in prison.
