EXETER, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire investigators are trying to learn more details about a body found in a vacant building, which was found following a fire in the building.

The Portsmouth Herald is reporting that the state police Major Crime Unit and Attorney General's office have joined the investigation.

Investigators are also focusing on a car found on the property of the building that local officials say has been vacant more than 20 years. The scene is adjacent to the Exeter Recreation Complex.

The newspaper reports that the fire was reported at about 7 a.m. and was extinguished by 8 a.m by Exeter firefighters.

Senior Assistant Attorney General Jeffery Strelzin classified the case as a “death investigation,” saying they were still trying to figure out what happened.
